A source from the Egyptian Football Association revealed details of the Referees Committee's efforts regarding the officiating crew for the summit match between Al Ahly and Zamalek.
Al Ahly will face Zamalek on October 11 in the sixth round of the league competition.
A source from the Football Association told FilGoal.com : "The Referees Committee has contacted several European federations to bring in a foreign officiating crew for the upcoming Al Ahly vs. Zamalek match. Essam Abd El Fatah prefers the German and French schools due to their extensive experience."
FilGoal.com previously reported that the Football Association received a letter from the Clubs League on the evening of September 1, concerning Al Ahly's request to bring in foreign referees for its matches against Zamalek and Pyramids.
Al Ahly is scheduled to play against Zamalek in the sixth round of the league on Sunday, October 11, while it will meet Pyramids in the ninth round on November 23.
The league competition is paused due to the international break, during which the Egyptian national team will play three matches against Angola, South Sudan, and South Africa.
Pyramids currently lead the league standings with 15 points, ahead of Zamalek and Al Ahly, who occupy second and third place respectively with 13 points each.
