A source from the Professional Clubs Association clarified the system of the new season of the Egyptian League competition for the 2026-27 season.
And Ahmed Diab, the head of the association, had previously announced an increase in the financial prizes for the league champion and the popular clubs after signing the new partnership contract.
And the source said to FilGoal.com: "The 2026-27 season will include 20 clubs, the first stage will be held in a league system of one round".
And he added "The teams in the final stage will be divided into two groups, the first includes 6 teams to compete for the title, and the second includes 14 teams to compete to avoid relegation".
It is mentioned that the Clubs Association adopted the division of the league into two stages in the last two seasons of the competition.
In the 2024-25 season, the teams were divided into 9 to compete for the title and 9 to avoid relegation in the final stage, and relegation was exceptionally canceled.
And in the 2025-26 season, the teams were divided into 7 to compete for the title and 14 to avoid relegation in the final stage, with 4 teams relegated to the Professional League.
And Ahmed Diab revealed during the signing ceremony of the partnership contract for the next season of the Egyptian League an increase in the financial prize for the competition champion to become 50 million pounds. (See details)
