Bander Al-Muqail, president of Saudi Al Riyadh club, hinted in Saudi statements about the existence of positive indicators regarding the deal.
A source from Al Ahly told FilGoal.com: "Negotiations with Al Riyadh club are going well".
He added, "We are close to reaching a final agreement with the club that allows Trezeguet's transfer".
On Sunday, Saudi newspaper Al-Wiam clarified that Saudi Al Riyadh club granted Al Ahly a 72-hour deadline to settle the deal for Trezeguet's transfer.
Al Riyadh was close to completing the agreement to sign Trezeguet starting from next season.
The report mentioned that Al Riyadh officials gave Al Ahly's management a 72-hour deadline to settle the Trezeguet deal.
The report pointed out that Al Riyadh had previously agreed with Al Ahly to sign Trezeguet for 1.2 million dollars before Al Ahly backed out and requested an additional half a million dollars.
The matter was met with rejection from Al Riyadh club, which granted Al Ahly a 72-hour deadline before settling the matter definitively and deciding on the deal, according to the report.
Al Riyadh had agreed with Trezeguet on all details and only the final touches on the deal remained, but it has now become threatened with failure in the current hours.
According to Saudi newspaper Al Riyadh, Al Riyadh club's management is seriously considering withdrawing and pulling out of negotiations with Al Ahly regarding signing Trezeguet.
The Saudi newspaper attributed the reason to the lack of clarity regarding the financial requirements related to the deal, in addition to the delay in settling it from the Egyptian side, which prompted the club not to continue the talks according to the same report.

The 31-year-old winger is linked to a contract with Al Ahly that extends until the summer of 2030.
Trezeguet joined Al Ahly in the last summer transfer window coming from Turkish Trabzonspor.
The Egyptian international was formed at Al Ahly before leaving for several experiences outside Egypt.
Trezeguet participated in 32 matches during the past season with Al Ahly, scoring 18 goals and providing one assist.
He won the African Champions League top scorer award for the past season by scoring 6 goals.
