Mamdouh Abbas, the honorary president of Zamalek Club, sent a special message regarding the team's upcoming match against AS Port, the Djibouti champion, in the CAF Champions League.
Zamalek will face the Djiboutian champion tomorrow, Friday, at 8:00 PM at Cairo International Stadium, in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
Abbas wrote on his official page on the social media platform "X": "I ask the fans, supporters, and devotees of the White Jersey to stand by the sons of Mit Okba in their match tomorrow against the Djiboutian club."
He added: "For your information, this team played two matches against us; we won the first 2-0, while in the second they scored within the first 15 minutes, making the match extremely difficult for us, and we barely managed to win 4-1."
He continued: "Therefore, I hope this club is not judged by its financial capabilities, but by its technical abilities."
It is worth noting that AS Port had never faced Zamalek before, but they met Arta Solar from Djibouti in the Round of 32 of the CAF Confederation Cup; the first leg ended 2-0, and Zamalek won the return leg 4-1.
Zamalek returns to the CAF Champions League competition again after a three-year absence from the continental tournament.
