The draw for the Egyptian League competition for the 2026-2027 season will be held this evening, Wednesday.
The Egyptian League draw ceremony begins at three in the afternoon today.
The Clubs Association is expected to announce the start date of the league during the draw ceremony.
Zamalek Club had won the Egyptian League title last season, ahead of Pyramids and Al-Ahly.
Egyptian League System
The new season of the Egyptian League is scheduled to witness the participation of 20 clubs, with the first stage held in a single-round league system.
In the final stage, the teams will be divided into two groups: the first includes 6 teams to compete for the title, and the second includes 14 teams to compete to avoid relegation.
Four teams will be relegated from the Egyptian League, and two teams will be promoted from the second division.
The Egyptian League is held in an exceptional season for the second consecutive season, after the number of clubs was increased in the previous season.
Promoted Clubs
Promoted to the Egyptian League are Abu Qir Fertilizers, Petrol Assiut, and Al-Qanah.
Al-Qanah and Petrol Assiut return to the Premier League after an absence, while Abu Qir Fertilizers makes its first appearance in the spotlight league.
Relegated were Electricity Ismailia, Ismaili, Border Guards, and Pharco.
Historical Champion
Al-Ahly Club is considered the historical champion of the Egyptian League with 45 titles, while Zamalek Club has 15 titles.
