12 clubs participating in the new 2026-2027 Egyptian Premier League championship announced their support for Ahmed Diab to continue as president of the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association Committee, while 3 clubs have not yet decided their position.

Ahmed Diab has headed the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association since 2021, and he is approaching a new term to head the association for the new season.

The Egyptian Football Association had opened the nomination process for the elections of the new board of directors of the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association for the upcoming electoral term, as it began receiving official nomination letters from the clubs starting from Saturday, July 18, until tomorrow, Monday, July 20.

The official letters sent by the clubs so far have shown a major alliance to support Ahmed Diab in the new electoral cycle, as 12 clubs officially nominated him to head the association.

In contrast, 5 clubs preferred to field independent candidates for board membership, as Al Ahly's board decided to continue fielding Ibrahim El-Kafrawy as the representative of the Red Castle, while Zamalek re-nominated Khaled Refaat, and Tala'ea El-Gaish chose Major General Khaled Shukri to enter the race, while Al-Mokaweloun Al-Arab fielded Ahmed Hashem, and Al-Masry of Port Said adopted the selection of Mohamed El-Khouly as its representative.

With the majority of the electoral list closed upon receiving nomination letters from 17 clubs (12 nominated Diab and 5 each fielded a separate candidate for membership while supporting Diab as president), only 3 clubs remain that have not yet sent their official nomination letters to the Football Association headquarters.

Sports circles are awaiting the final position of Pyramids, Modern Sport, and Petrojet to settle the final seats and names before starting the legal procedures and holding the general assembly to approve the new formation.
