A source at Al Ahly denied receiving an offer to sign Moroccan player Ashraf Ben Sharqi from Libya's Ahli Benghazi.

The Moroccan star's contract with the Red Castle expires at the end of the current season, and he will be eligible to sign for any club starting next January.

The source told Yalla Kora in exclusive comments: "Decisive steps regarding Ben Sharqi's contract renewal file will be taken before January so that the player does not reach the period where he is allowed to sign for any club."

The source continued: "We refuse the departure of any player until the end of the season."

Yalla Kora had previously revealed that Al Ahly plans to extend the contract of Moroccan player Ashraf Ben Sharqi, a member of the team, before entering the free agency period of his contract.
