The Kuwait national team fell into the trap of defeat against Oman by three goals to one, in the match that brought them together, as part of the Gulf Cup "Khaleeji 27" tournament.

The Kuwait national team had previously suffered a three-goal to two defeat against Iraq in the previous round of the Gulf Cup tournament, while the Oman national team lost to Saudi Arabia by three clean goals.
Kuwait took the lead through Shabib Al-Khalidi in the 6th minute, while Oman equalized through Nasser Al-Rawahi in the 65th minute. The same player returned to score his second goal and his national team's second in the 81st minute, and Musab Al-Shaqsi added the third goal in the 84th minute.
Oman's points total rose to 4, placing them second, separated from Iraq, who moved to third, by yellow cards. Kuwait remains without points in fourth and last place.
With this result, both Kuwait and Iraq are eliminated from Khaleeji 27, while Saudi Arabia and Oman advanced to the semi-finals.
