Al-Husseini Abu Qamar, Vice President of Al-Masry Port Said Club, clarified the reasons and behind-the-scenes details surrounding the departure of former team coach Emad El-Nahas in recent days, alongside the appointment of coach Ahmed Samy to the role.
During statements made on "MBC Masr 2" channel, Al-Husseini Abu Qamar said: "Emad El-Nahas is a great football star; we cannot deny his efforts. He deserves credit, arrived at a crucial time, and enjoys the appreciation of the entire board of directors."
The Vice President of Al-Masry added: "The idea of change was not a strategy adopted by the board or its chairman, Kamel Abu Ali. Emad El-Nahas brought a championship title to Al-Masry Club after 28 years; he has our full appreciation and holds significant stature and value."
He continued: "Every board has its own options. We are among those boards that exercise patience regarding changes and provide full support and backing. Emad El-Nahas is aware of this. However, he imagined that the reasons circulated on social media regarding his departure originated from the board, which is untrue."
He further stated: "Emad El-Nahas commands considerable respect and professionalism. During our discussions about terminating the contract, no problems arose, and the matter concluded smoothly. However, I hold some reservations regarding certain points that I prefer not to discuss through the media. I simply wanted to emphasize that this was neither a conspiracy against Emad El-Nahas nor a deliberate move to force his departure."
He added: "We did not want to include Emad El-Nahas's son in the youth team in order to protect Emad El-Nahas himself from falling into the trap of favoritism and to secure his continued tenure with the team."
He continued: "Gradisar is a great and important player. The financial burden Al-Masry Club would have undertaken to sign him was manageable, whereas Al-Ahly would have borne the larger portion of the player's contract."
This statement comes despite Emad El-Nahas clarifying the reasons that led him to reject the idea of signing Gradisar on loan from Al-Ahly, stating: "Al-Ahly signed five strikers: Marwan Otaka, Kamouche, Benjedida, Mounsef Bekrar, and Akitay Abdullah."
El-Nahas added: "I told the club chairman, Kamel Abu Ali, 'I want the best African striker in the country where you reside (Morocco).' I have a technical opinion about Gradisar since I coached him. What angered people is that he moved to Ceramica, but did the league competition end and did he become the league's top scorer? What does this have to do with my departure from Al-Masry?"
El-Nahas concluded: "I hope he becomes the league's top scorer and achieves success with Ceramica; this will not harm me in any way. They also offered us the duo Gradisar and Reda Salem, who told me, 'If I play in Egypt, I will join you at Al-Masry.'"
