The Main Referees Committee of the Football Association has revealed an analysis of the refereeing incidents in the match between Zamalek and Suez Montakhab Petrojet, within the framework of the Egyptian Premier League matches.
Zamalek had secured a 2-0 victory over Suez Montakhab Petrojet in the third round of the Egyptian Premier League at Cairo Stadium.

The Referees Committee announced, via a video on the official website of the Football Association, the incidents from the Zamalek vs. Suez Montakhab Petrojet match. Regarding the first incident, Zamalek requested a penalty kick for one of their players. Based on the video and image review, the contact made by the goalkeeper did not constitute a foul. The referee's on-field decision was to allow play to continue, and after reviewing the VAR footage, the VAR referee confirmed the original decision that no foul had occurred.
The committee added: "The second incident in the same match was a penalty kick awarded to Petrojet. The referee's positioning helped him make the correct decision, as the defender neglected the attacker's foot, making the penalty award a correct call. During the execution of the penalty kick, the goalkeeper committed an infringement by advancing beyond the goal line. After reviewing the video footage, the referee was informed to retake the kick. Therefore, the Referees Committee's verdict is: the penalty kick was correctly awarded, and the decision to retake it was also correct."
