Pyramids FC's first football team has taken the lead against their Kenyan counterparts Gor Mahia in the match currently being played between them, as part of the CAF Champions League competition.
The match between Pyramids and Kenya's Gor Mahia is taking place at Nyayo National Stadium in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, in the first leg of the preliminary round for the 2026-2027 African season.

Moroccan player Walid El Karti scored the opening goal for Pyramids in the fifth minute of the first half, following up on a shot by Mostafa Fathi.
It is worth noting that Pyramids holds a CAF Champions League title in its history after winning the championship in 2025 against South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns.
It should also be noted that the return match between Pyramids and Gor Mahia will take place at 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo, according to the schedule set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
