Barcelona's head coach, Hans Flick, has decided to include young Egyptian professional Hamza Abdel Karim in the squad list for the new UEFA Champions League season.
The new 2026/27 UEFA Champions League season kicks off next Tuesday, with UEFA having conducted the league phase draw two weeks ago.
Barcelona is preparing to play its first league-phase match in the Champions League next Wednesday against Feyenoord.
Yesterday, UEFA published Barcelona's squad list for the Champions League league phase, in which coach Hans Flick decided to call up Egyptian player Hamza Abdel Karim.
Hamza Abdel Karim has been registered with Barcelona's first team and has been assigned jersey number 29.

This came after the 18-year-old impressed coach Hans Flick during the pre-season preparations with the first team, scoring four goals and finishing as the top scorer of the preparatory season.
Hamza Abdel Karim made his debut with Barcelona in La Liga last Monday against Rayo Vallecano, coming on as a substitute in the 85th minute.
The official UEFA Champions League account on Facebook flirted with Hamza Abdel Karim after posting his picture, captioning: "Look who's here, Hamza Abdel Karim is ready for Champions League nights."
