The technical staff of Zamalek's first football team, led by Moataz Gamal, decided to rest left-back Ahmed Fathouh from the match against AS Port, the champion of Djibouti.
Zamalek will face AS Port, the champion of Djibouti, in a match scheduled for this Friday evening in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Fathouh's exclusion comes due to his lack of fitness, despite his insistence on joining his teammates at the team camp for the match against the Djiboutian champions.
According to Zamalek Club's media center, Ahmed Fathouh trained only once before the match due to illness, which led to his exclusion from the game.
Zamalek aims to secure an early victory in the first leg before next week's return match to facilitate their task of advancing to the next round of the CAF Champions League.
