Former Egyptian football star Farouk Gaafar revealed the crisis involving his son, Saif Farouk Gaafar, with Zamalek and the truth behind his departure from the club.

Farouk Gaafar stated in an interview on MBC Masr channel: "I only intervened in my son Saif's crisis a week ago, when he was registered on the first team list."

He added: "Four days before the start of the Premier League, I was surprised by the club's desire for my son to leave, and they informed me that the options were either a mutual termination or a loan move."

He continued: "I communicated with Abdel Nasser Mohamed and told him the timing was inappropriate, as all clubs had closed their registration lists, besides Zamalek itself facing a registration crisis, so why should Saif leave?"

He went on: "Abdel Nasser Mohamed said the club wants Saif to leave, and I told him this statement is illogical. I have not discussed any financial matters; until now, I do not know who made this decision, and I prefer not to interfere in anyone's work. Hussein Labib told me he would get back to me."

He concluded: "Saif is not training with the team and is exercising individually during a difficult period currently. What is even more dangerous is that he is not training with the squad. When I asked Saif what he had done, he told me he did nothing."
