The Egyptian national team is close to playing a friendly match against South Africa during the upcoming international break in October.

The Egyptian national team will hold a closed training camp from September 21 until October 6.

"Yalla Kora" has learned that an agreement has largely been reached to hold the match on October 4, as part of the national team's preparations for upcoming commitments.

Hossam Hassan, head coach of the Egyptian national team, had requested a friendly match against a strong African team, aiming to gain maximum technical benefit from the international break.

The Egyptian national team's technical staff received several offers to play friendly matches during October, but Hossam Hassan insisted on facing a strong team, making South Africa the closest opponent for the Pharaohs.

It is expected that official details of the match will be announced soon, once all arrangements for the game are finalized.

The Egyptian national team is participating in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Group Two, which includes Angola, South Sudan, and Malawi.

The Pharaohs will face Angola and South Sudan on September 25 and 29, respectively, as part of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
