Essam Serag El-Din, head of the contracts sector at Al-Ahly Club, revealed the behind-the-scenes details of extending Imam Ashour's contract, the team's midfielder.

The 32-year-old player extended his contract with the Red Devils until the summer of 2030.

Essam Serag stated in interviews on Al-Ahly TV: "Imam Ashour deserves the fans' tribute; he is a respectable player and one of Al-Ahly's greats."

He continued: "Imam Ashour has a Spanish agent; we met with him and decided to extend his contract."

He emphasized: "After the World Cup, there was a vision from Yassin Mansour and Sayed Abdel Hafeez regarding stability within the team."

He added: "Imam Ashour wanted to continue at Al-Ahly and did not discuss financial figures when extending his contract."

Regarding the renewal of contracts for Mostafa Shobeir, Yasser Ibrahim, and Mohamed Hany: "We submitted contract renewal offers to the trio; each player has only one season remaining on their current contract."

He clarified: "Yasser Ibrahim received an offer, while Mostafa Shobeir received two offers to leave Al-Ahly, but the club decided not to sell the players this season, opting instead to strengthen certain positions given the circumstances the team is facing."

He further stated: "Al-Ahly possesses the best players in Africa; the reinforcements last season were strong in preparation for the Club World Cup."
