Marc Cucurella, star of Real Madrid, praised his teammate at the Royal Club and his defensive efforts following yesterday's Wednesday victory over Real Sociedad in La Liga, commenting on his first appearance with Los Merengues at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
Real Madrid managed to defeat Real Sociedad 4-1 yesterday, Wednesday, in a postponed match from the first round of the Spanish First Division Championship.
Cucurella played the entire second half, delivered a good performance, and contributed to Real Madrid's victory.
Cucurella also praised the abilities of his Real Madrid teammate, Vinícius Júnior, who scored a goal and performed well.

Cucurella said in statements quoted by the newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" after the match ended: "Vinícius is clearly very committed; we saw him pressing the opposing team until the end. When a player is at this level, I see him truly integrated into the team. Vinícius is an important player for the squad, and players who try to help defensively push all of us to give our best. Through teamwork and in this way, we can become a better team."

He added: "We are putting in a lot of effort, and the season is still long. I believe the coach knows how to manage the team skillfully; this is one of his strengths. Vinícius delivered a wonderful match, and against Espanyol, I really admired the effort he made and how he helps his teammates. Offensively, I cannot say much more about him because he possesses exceptional talent."
Regarding his first appearance at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium as a Real Madrid player, he continued: "I experienced a perfect night and could not ask for more. At the beginning, I showed the World Cup to the fans, and I think it was something truly magnificent. We delivered a great performance; ultimately, we faced a great team that made things difficult for us, but we performed wonderfully and knew how to overcome the tough moments we went through."
He added: "It was a truly special night full of emotions. Today was important for me; it was the first day my family was present at the Bernabéu. I am very happy, and I hope to experience nights like this. I felt proud; few people receive this much love and appreciation and get to display such an important trophy in this stadium. I am very grateful for everyone's support, and I will continue working hard because this is just the beginning."
Regarding Kylian Mbappé, who scored a hat-trick yesterday, Cucurella continued: "He is an extremely decisive player, and it is a pleasure to have him in our team. I hope he continues scoring more goals, and this will not be his last hat-trick. I believe the team becomes more dangerous when Mbappé is at his best, and I am happy for him."
Real Madrid signed Cucurella during the current summer transfer window, acquiring him from Chelsea for 60 million euros on a six-season contract.
