European clubs participating in the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League season are awaiting the draw ceremony for this prestigious competition, which will take place next Thursday evening, August 27.
Twenty-nine clubs qualify directly for the UEFA Champions League, while the identities of the remaining seven teams will be determined through the qualifying rounds, bringing the final total to 36 teams following the format introduced two seasons ago.

The 36 teams will be divided into four pots. Each team will face two opponents from each pot. A team cannot face another club from its own national association, but it may be drawn against two teams from the same country.
Each team will play eight opponents, with four matches at home and four away, according to the rules stipulated under the new format.

Pot 1: Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid.
Pot 2: Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Sporting Lisbon, Aston Villa, Porto, Manchester United, Club Brugge, Real Betis, PSV Eindhoven.
Pot 3: Feyenoord, Lille, Napoli, RB Leipzig, Villarreal, Shakhtar Donetsk, Galatasaray, Bodø/Glimt, Fenerbahçe/Lyon.
Pot 4: Slavia Prague, Stuttgart, Lens, Como, Sabah, LASK Linz, Celje/Slovan Bratislava, AEK Athens/Levski Sofia, Viking/Dinamo Zagreb.
