FC Barcelona is looking to sign a target man during the remaining period of the current summer transfer window, as the prospect of signing Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez appears difficult at the moment, given the Rojiblancos' insistence on keeping the Argentine international.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick wants to sign a target man, as the only player currently in that position in the Blaugrana squad is the young talent Hamza Abdi Karim.
After moving away from the idea of signing Alvarez, Barcelona has looked at other options, and among the candidates to strengthen the striker position at the Spanish club is Nicolo Tresoldi, star of Club Brugge.
It is reported that Barcelona is exploring the possibility of signing Tresoldi this summer, who delivered an outstanding performance with Club Brugge last season.

However, the newspaper "Sport" reported today that Tresoldi's move to Barcelona is at risk, as both Manchester United and Chelsea have entered the negotiations to sign the 22-year-old player.
The newspaper added that Club Brugge's stance on selling Tresoldi has changed, after the Belgian team rejected an offer from Roma to sign the player for 35 million euros.
It explained that Manchester United and Chelsea have contacted Club Brugge and Tresoldi's agent to explore the possibility of signing the player, while the Belgian club will allow the player to leave for around 50 million euros, after there was no intention to part with the striker.
Sport further stated that Barcelona has not thrown in the towel regarding the signing of Alvarez, and the Blaugrana are waiting for Atletico Madrid's match against Villarreal today in the Spanish league, in which the Argentine international is expected to participate, while awaiting the reaction of the fans present at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium, whether in support or disapproval of the player, as the situation remains open to all possibilities.
