Real Madrid achieved a dramatic victory over Espanyol with two goals to one, thanks to young newcomer Carlos Espi, who scored the winning goal for Los Blancos in the 90th minute.

Espanyol sarcastically commented on the refereeing via their official X account: "How many dives does it take to get a second yellow card? It's for a friend."

This came after Vinicius Junior demanded a penalty following his fall inside Espanyol's box, which many viewed as merely an act by the Brazilian to win a penalty for Los Blancos.

Espanyol fans expressed their anger at the refereeing for not issuing Vinicius Junior a second yellow card for deliberate diving, having already received one in the 31st minute.
