Rodri shocks Barcelona in negotiations to sign him from Manchester City

Via Btolat

Media reports today spoke about some sudden developments in Barcelona Club's negotiations with Manchester City, regarding contracting with the Citizens' midfielder star, Rodri.

Rodri is linked to leaving Manchester City's ranks during the current summer transfer window, and the player has shown his desire to wear Barcelona's shirt and face a new challenge in his career, but the deal between the two parties has not been finalized yet.

The newspaper "Sport" reported, quoting "Sky Sports", that Rodri's deal, although it seemed settled in favor of Barcelona, the last hours witnessed a radical change, as Manchester City rejected all offers from the Spanish club to buy the player.

Manchester City believes that the offers presented by Barcelona for Rodri are below expectations, but Sky Sports confirmed that Rodri informed the Sky Blue administration that he will not push for leaving the English club's ranks and will complete his contract until the end of next season.

It added that Rodri wants to go to Spain and face a new challenge with Barcelona, but he knows that this must be done on the terms that Manchester City wants.

It explained that Rodri enjoys mutual respect with Manchester City, therefore, in case of no agreement with Barcelona, the player will be at the disposal of coach Enzo Maresca during the new season.

Sky added that Manchester City rejected the second offer from Barcelona to sign Rodri, estimated at about 65 million euros, while the value of the first offer was 45 million euros.

It continued that Barcelona is still optimistic about the possibility of signing Rodri, and there is no intention to cut off communications with Manchester City, as there is a good relationship between the two clubs, and the Blaugrana are working on presenting a final offer that brings the two parties closer to an agreement.

Barcelona appreciates Rodri's desire to join its ranks, although there is calm regarding the deal, in light of the player's decision not to pressure Manchester City to leave.

Although Rodri agreed to a four-season contract with Barcelona, the latter realizes that completing the deal must be done, of course, in agreement with Manchester City, and that the deal will be settled if a suitable offer is presented to the English club.
