A deal and a surprise.. How is Al Ahly thinking after Belamri's injury?

Via Yallakora

Al Ahly Club has begun moving to resolve the left-back crisis following the injury of its Moroccan player Youssef Belamri with a cruciate ligament tear during the friendly match held yesterday evening against Spanish side Badalona.

A source inside Al Ahly Club said in exclusive statements to Yalla Koura that Al Ahly has decided to remove Youssef Belamri from the squad list for the new season.

He added that Al Ahly will not sign a foreign replacement in this position but is considering several other solutions given that it has players such as Karim El Debes, Karim Fouad and Ahmed Nabil Koka.

The source confirmed that Al Ahly is making strong and intensive efforts to sign Petrojet left-back Tawfik Mohamed during the final hours of the summer transfer window.

He also pointed out that one of the proposed solutions could be a surprise: registering winger Reda Slim in Al Ahly’s squad for the new season instead of Youssef Belamri if the club fails to reach an agreement with Morocco’s Royal Army Club regarding Reda Slim’s transfer to the latter.

If Al Ahly reaches an agreement with Royal Army to sell Reda Slim, the club will enter the new season with only four foreign players.
