Scottish club Celtic reached a final agreement with its counterpart Real Oviedo club regarding obtaining the services of the Egyptian player, Haitham Hassan, during the current summer transfer season for the year 2026.
Haitham Hassan was the focus of attention of several clubs in the current summer mercato thanks to his distinguished performance in the FIFA World Cup tournament with Egypt, where he played a role in the historic qualification to the round of 16.
Celtic entered into prolonged negotiations with Real Oviedo to conclude the deal for Haitham Hassan, knowing that the Spanish team had been relegated to the second division.
The Spanish newspaper "El Periódico Mediterráneo" reported that there is a final and comprehensive agreement between Celtic and Real Oviedo regarding the Haitham Hassan deal, with the financial details revealed.
It explained that Haitham Hassan will join Celtic for 6 million euros, after Real Oviedo had wanted 10 million euros, but the Scottish club succeeded in reaching an agreement satisfactory to all parties.

It stated that Villarreal will receive a share of the deal, as it included a clause in the contract for selling Haitham Hassan to Real Oviedo in 2024, which entails receiving 40% of the fees from any future sale.
It indicated that, accordingly, Villarreal will receive 2.4 million euros from Haitham Hassan's transfer to Celtic, as long as the total value of the deal amounts to 6 million euros.
It confirmed that only a little remains before the official announcement of Haitham Hassan's transfer to Celtic, to begin a new stage in his professional career.
