Former Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan spoke about the transfer of Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah to the Turkish league during the current summer transfer window through the Trabzonspor club.
Mohamed Salah joined Trabzonspor under a two-year contract last Thursday, in a major deal for the Turkish club.
Ahmed Hassan said in statements to the Turkish newspaper "a spor": "Mohamed Salah will add great value to Turkish football, I still consider myself part of the Besiktas family, I wished to see Mohamed Salah at that club".
He added: "If Mohamed Salah asked me for advice, I would have advised him to join Besiktas, given Besiktas' fan base and media attention, everything would have been different".
He continued: "The world has seen how Mohamed Salah was received, Trabzonspor fans and the Turkish people have shown great interest in him, I think Mohamed Salah will be happy there".
Ahmed Hassan played in the Turkish league for Besiktas between 2003 and 2006.
