The African Football Confederation "CAF" announced the assignment of organizing the Africa Under-23 Championship qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, where the tournament is expected to be held during the next year 2027.

Ghana will host the Africa Cup of Nations Under-20, TotalEnergies, 2027, during the months of February and March of next year, while Morocco will host the Africa Cup of Nations Under-17, 2027, during the months of April and May.
Egypt will be the host country for the Africa Cup of Nations Under-23, 2027, which will serve as the qualifying tournament for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
"CAF" is studying the possibility of launching a new Africa Cup of Nations Under-17 for women, with the aim of launching the competition next year, if the necessary sporting and organizational requirements are met.
The proposed tournament would enhance "CAF"'s investments in women's football, and provide another important competitive path for young female players across the continent.
Morocco will host the Africa Cup of Nations for Futsal 2026 from October 12 to 21, while the Africa Cup of Nations for Beach Soccer 2026 will be held in Senegal, during the month of November.
Progress has been made on the proposed African Nations League, as the competition system was discussed within the CAF Executive Committee, and the project comes within CAF's broader strategy aimed at providing more important and commercially attractive international football for member associations.
The proposed date for the Africa Under-23 Championship
The Egyptian Football Association clarified in a statement issued on Saturday evening that the date of the tournament has not been officially determined, while the proposed date for holding it is next February.
The Egyptian national team participated in the Paris 2024 Olympics and managed to achieve fourth place.
