Belgian international Thibaut Courtois, the first-team goalkeeper for Real Madrid's football team, spoke about his relationship with Portuguese Jose Mourinho, the technical director of the Whites, following his return from injury.

Regarding his return before the scheduled training time, Courtois said: "I returned a little early because I wanted to make sure I was fine through individual training before joining the team".

He continued, in statements via Real Madrid's channel reported by "Mundo Deportivo": "Today I trained and felt very good and very happy to return to training".

Regarding Mourinho, he added: "Mourinho is a very strict coach; he always demands discipline and gives priority to the spirit of the team and the group over the individuality of the players".

He continued: "For me, these are important things to achieve victory. He is a great coach and his personality is very friendly; he tells the truth as it is, and that's what I like about him. I think this is the path we need to follow in the coming period".

He went on: "We were together at Chelsea, and we won the English Premier League together. I have beautiful memories with him and I am happy to play under his leadership again. We hope to work well together and spend wonderful years here".

He stressed: "It is good to give everyone a rest from training today, and this is important to clear our minds because the season is very long, and if we start strong, we will suffer early injuries".

He continued: "We will regain our fitness quickly because we have not stopped for a long time, and we will be fine. Everyone is eager to return together and compete in a new season".

Regarding what he expects for the next season: "We look forward to it with great eagerness. I want to win titles. It is important for the team, the fans, and the club to win again".

He continued: "After the World Cup and the injury, I was keen to regain my full physical fitness quickly, and that has been achieved. I will be ready to train tomorrow".

He concluded: "There are quite a few new players. We know some of them through playing against them, but the World Cup ended very late this year, and it is not easy for the coach to integrate everyone gradually".

Thibaut Courtois returned to Real Madrid training last Friday and trained today, Sunday, alone again.
