Portuguese international Bernardo Silva, first-team footballer at Real Madrid club, spoke about his transfer to the white team and the reason that made him decide his future by wearing the Merengue shirt.
Bernardo Silva transferred to Real Madrid for free after ending his contract with Manchester City following a career full of achievements and important titles in the history of the Sky Blues.
Bernardo Silva had his first day as a Real Madrid player last Monday, and the Portuguese midfielder underwent a medical examination and completed two training sessions under the leadership of Jose Mourinho.
Bernardo Silva said in statements reported by "Marca" newspaper: "It is a very special matter and I am very happy to be here at Real Madrid, no need to talk about this club because its history speaks for itself ".
He continued: "I am very happy with the start and trying to help this team continue the victories, which they excel at doing, I am just another player here to help and try to continue the series of victories for this wonderful club".

He added: "I feel tired, the first training session was difficult, but I am very happy to meet my teammates, I know some of them well because I have played against them many times, the team has a very great focus and this place makes me feel as if I am at home".
Regarding Mourinho, he continued: "We have been rivals several times and now we are on the same side, he is a coach with a great status in Portuguese football, since my childhood we have been following his teams continuously and he has always raised the name of Portugal to the highest levels, I am very happy to start and learn with him".
He went on: "I am a hardworking player, I always strive to improve the performance of those around me, I always try to be available in several positions to help the team, I can play in many positions and I will be ready for anything Real Madrid needs".
He confirmed: "When Real Madrid contacted me it was impossible to refuse the offer, I did not hesitate for a moment, after playing against Real Madrid many times, I realized how wonderful it is to be here, Santiago Bernabeu stadium has great awe".
He explained: "My closeness to my family and my closeness to Portugal and our similar culture, all these factors helped me but the dream of playing for the best club in the history of football is a great honor".
Regarding the inspiring personalities for him: "I have many influential personalities, Zidane is undoubtedly one of them as well as Rui Costa for being a player at Benfica and Portugal, Modric who was a role model for me and an example to follow on and off the pitch".
He concluded: "Zidane might be among the top 5 players in the history of football, he played almost in my position and when I was young I used to watch how he controls the ball and how he plays and how he controls the course of the match".
