Zamalek Club Statement

Zamalek said in an official statement that it rejects questioning the integrity of Egyptian refereeing, and the White Club appealed to the Football Association to reveal the validity of the contracts of players from the rest of the clubs.

The text of Zamalek Club's statement was as follows:

Zamalek Club's board of directors followed with great astonishment the early campaign against Egyptian refereeing and the preemptive objection to the formation of the referees' committee.

Regarding this matter, Zamalek Club's board of directors would like to clarify a number of points to the public:

First: The early threat to the referees, objecting to some names, and recalling refereeing incidents from last season for the purpose of casting doubt and causing confusion, is completely unacceptable and aims to terrorize the referees before the start of the season, as has been the custom in recent seasons.

Second: It is unacceptable to question the integrity of Egyptian refereeing and all elements of the Egyptian football system.

Third: Zamalek Club's board of directors appreciates the efforts of the board of the Egyptian Football Association, headed by Engineer Hani Abu Rida, in developing the football system and capitalizing on the success of our national team's distinguished World Cup participation in the last World Cup.

Zamalek's board of directors also commends the Federation president's keenness to do justice to the club and his announcement before the sports community that all of Zamalek's players' contracts are valid, and appeals to the Football Association and the relevant authorities to reveal the validity of the contracts of players from the rest of the clubs, in order to clarify the truth to everyone.
