Media reports spoke today about the latest developments regarding the future of Julian Alvarez, the star of Atletico Madrid club, about whom there are many doubts regarding the possibility of his departure from the Rojiblancos and joining Barcelona.
Alvarez expressed during the World Cup his desire to leave the ranks of Atletico Madrid and achieve his dream, without disclosing the club he would like to play for.
Barcelona entered the bidding to sign Alvarez in the past period, as the Spanish capital club insists on obtaining the release clause in the player's contract, estimated at around 500 million euros, in order to allow him to leave.
Marca newspaper reported that Alvarez has begun to resign himself to the idea of staying with Atletico Madrid, as the player contacted the Spanish team's medical staff to continue his training program during his summer vacation.
It added that Alvarez is currently in Ibiza to spend his summer vacation, with only nine days left until the end of the rest period, before returning to Atletico Madrid training.

It explained that Atletico Madrid will not sell Alvarez to Barcelona under any circumstances, which prompted the Rojiblancos to file a complaint with the Spanish Football Federation, and now the player has two options: the first is to stay with Atletico and bear the wave of anger that will be directed at him by the fans, or bring an offer from outside Spain, which is the only case that might prompt Atletico to sell him, knowing that Alvarez wants to continue in the Spanish league and does not want to return to England.
The newspaper added that Alvarez has accepted the fait accompli of staying with Atletico Madrid, without ruling out the possibility of the player rebelling against his club based on instructions from his agents, but everything now points to Julian returning to Rojiblancos training.
Marca raised another question, namely whether the failure of Alvarez's transfer to Barcelona would affect his performance next season with Atletico Madrid, as no one within the Rojiblancos doubts the player's professionalism, who met with coach Diego Simeone during the World Cup.
The newspaper confirmed the strength of Simeone's relationship with Alvarez, as the coach was keen to check on the player's ankle injury before and during the World Cup, and has always defended the Argentine international.
Marca continued, explaining that Alvarez's future with Atletico Madrid remains unclear, especially if an offer comes from the Premier League to sign the player, in which case the club will return to discussing the matter.
