Former Egyptian national team star Ahmed Hijazi announced his final retirement from football after leaving the ranks of Saudi club Neom.

Hijazi wrote on his page on the social networking site Facebook: "Today I announce my retirement from football as a player, not the retirement of my passion and love".
He added: "Thank you to football for every moment, every challenge, every lesson, and every memory it made with me, My journey inside the field has ended, but my journey with football continues, with the same passion, ambition, and determination".
It is worth noting that Ahmed Hijazi played for many clubs, most notably Al-Ahly, Ismaili, Italian Fiorentina, Saudi Al-Ittihad and Neom".
