Al-Ahly Club officially announced today, Friday, that it will play a friendly match against Barcelona next August as part of the Joan Gamper Tournament.
The club's official website stated that the match will be held at Camp Nou, the Catalan club's home ground, on August 19.
A source revealed in exclusive statements to Yalla Koura that Al-Ahly will receive financial compensation for the friendly against Barcelona estimated at $220,000.
The Al-Ahly team is scheduled to hold a training camp in Spain in preparation for the new 2026-2027 season.
Al-Ahly played its first friendly match yesterday evening, Thursday, against Cairo's Nasr team, ending with a 5-1 victory for the Red Team.
Petrol Assiut Club also announced a friendly match against Al-Ahly on August 5.
The Al-Ahly team is expected to compete in several local and continental tournaments, starting with the Egyptian League and Egypt Cup.
Al-Ahly will also participate in the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing third in the league last season.
