The Tunisian Football Federation has granted clubs that do not meet the legal conditions a final deadline to settle their financial situations and obtain a license to participate in local championships for the 2026/2027 sports season, setting a decisive date to avoid penalties of exclusion from competitions.
The Tunisian Football Federation issued an official statement via its Facebook account as follows: "Regarding the clubs that have not completed the legal conditions required to participate in the national championship for the 2026/2027 sports season".
It added: "Following the meeting of the First Division Committee on July 24, 2026, to consider granting participation licenses in the national championship for the 2026/2027 sports season".
It continued: "After reviewing the provisions of Article 64 of the Confederation of African Football regulations related to granting licenses to clubs participating in the national championship".
It followed: "The First Division Committee informs all concerned clubs that the last date to complete the legal conditions, especially the condition of final payment or settlement of debts owed by them, has been set for August 10, 2026".
It continued: "The setting of the mentioned deadline comes in order to leave room for appealing the decisions issued by the Committee in the event of refusal to grant the license according to Article 12 of the Confederation of African Football regulations related to granting licenses to clubs participating in the national championship while respecting the schedule for the start of the 2026/2027 sports season".
The statement of the Tunisian Football Federation concluded: "Therefore, all concerned clubs are requested to respect the mentioned deadlines and settle their status so that they can obtain the license according to the law".
