Marc Cucurella, the Spanish national team player, caused a state of intense controversy after winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday evening at the expense of Argentina.
Yesterday evening witnessed the World Cup final between Argentina and Spain where the latter won by a goal without reply at "MetLife" stadium.
In a strange scene for many, Marc Cucurella appeared carrying the World Cup in a transparent colored garbage bag, which caused it to be considered a joke on social media.

It explained that the interpretation of the mentioned video clip is that all Spanish national team players received miniature copies of the World Cup from FIFA President Gianni Infantino in the locker room.
It pointed out that some think that cup is just a Lego model, which can be purchased from the website for $199.
It stressed that the country whose team wins the World Cup does not receive the original cup, made of 18-karat gold and currently costing $110,000, but rather receives a replica coated with gold.
While the original cup is kept at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, and only a few prominent figures have handled it before, including heads of state and top players.
