Media reports revealed today the strong possibility of punishing a duo from the Argentine national team, following the events witnessed in the World Cup final match between the Tango and Spain today.

The Argentine national team lost to Spain by a goal to nothing yesterday in the World Cup final, allowing La Roja to claim the World Cup title for the second time in their history.

However, the end of the match witnessed unfortunate events after the brawl that occurred between Leandro Paredes, the Argentine national team player, and Spain and Barcelona star Gavi.

Paredes initially grabbed Spain defender Eric Garcia by the neck, before also assaulting Gavi, after which Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni intervened along with the rest of the Tango technical staff to resolve the brawl.

The "Mirror" newspaper reported that FIFA intends to punish Paredes along with his Argentine national team teammate Nahuel Molina, after the latter participated in the brawl that followed the end of the match against Spain.

The newspaper added that the duration of the punishment for Molina and Paredes has not been disclosed, but the latter in particular will face a long suspension due to his actions after the end of the match.

It explained that Argentina player Enzo Fernandez will also be suspended, but for one match, after being sent off during today's match following two yellow cards.

FIFA regulations stipulate that the suspension of the Argentine players will take effect starting from the Tango's first official match after the end of the World Cup.
