Valencia continued its preparatory training for the new season in Girona, with the participation of the Malian star Aliou Dieng who joined from Al Ahly this summer.
The Spanish newspaper "Superdeporte" reported that Valencia coach Carlos Corberán is seeking to determine the optimal position for the Malian Dieng at the beginning of the preparation period.
Contrary to what many expect due to his strong physical build, Corberán did not try Dieng as a defensive midfielder in the number 6 position, as he is testing him in a more advanced position in midfield.

Corberán wants to rely on Dieng as one of the two central midfielders who position themselves in front of the defensive midfielder.
Corberán seeks to benefit from the strengths of the Malian player who is capable of covering wide areas and performing comprehensive roles instead of being content with sticking to a fixed position.
Dieng had confirmed during his presentation with Valencia that coach Carlos Corberán places great hopes on him after joining the Spanish club with a contract extending until 2028.
